About Canon Cameras

Canon Digital Cameras

Digital cameras revolutionized the world of photography, how photos are taken, and how they are handled after they are taken. It is no secret that digital files are much easier to handle than film and printed photos, and in todays digital world this is very helpful in storing a large amount of photos. Canon has been leading the way in terms of digital camera excellence and quality. A Canon digital camera is a prime example of a great digital camera today.

History

The history of Canon dates all the way back to 1933, when their first camera, the “Kwanon”, was put into prototype. At this time the company was not known as Canon, but as “Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory”. The history of the digital camera first dates back to the late 60s, with the development of digitized images. The first film-less camera was developed in 1972, but it is unknown whether it was ever built or not. The first recorded attempt to build one was in 1975 by Steven Sasson, and it took a total of 23 seconds to capture its first image. The name “Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory” was changed to Canon in 1969, and over the next 20 years after that a series of developments and upgrades took place that led to the first Canon digital camera in 1992 – the Canon Powershot 600.

Compact cameras, also called Point and Shoot (P&S) cameras, are cameras that are used primarily for simple and quick operation. Most of these cameras use an autofocus system and have a built in flash. They are popular among people who would not normally consider themselves a photographer but use compact cameras for vacations, parties, and other similar events. Canon offers a number of compact cameras for all types of situations, and their compact cameras are considered to be some of the best in the world. Their Powershot series offers a number of compact cameras, and there is something there for everyone, across all price ranges. If you do however want to take your photography to the next level, you might want to consider buying a Canon SLR camera.

A Single-Lens Reflex camera, or SLR camera often uses a series of mirrors and prisms. The photographer can then look through the lens to see the image that will be captured. SLR cameras are popular among photographers and people interested in higher end cameras because they offer parts that can be changed and customized to the photographers liking. Parts that are often customized are the lens, which also can control the zoom, and the flash. Canon also offers a number of these SLR cameras. Canon offers all of these replaceable parts in their camera lines, meaning that you can get exactly what you are looking for. The digital version of the SLR is most common today and is abbreviated to the DSLR. Most of Canons SLR cameras are DSRL. The Canon EOS line is their line of DSLR cameras, and these cameras are some of the most quality SLR cameras in the world. They offer professional SLR cameras for both the beginner in photography, and the most experienced professional. The EOS Rebel T3 is a great example of a Canon digital camera that is a DSLR.at+s
