Transferring Photos from a Digital Camera

transfer-photoTransferring images from your digital camera to your computer is usually very simple. There are some thing you need to take into consideration when buying a digital camera.

To upload photos from digital camera memory to your computers hard drive you need to connect you camera with your computer. You usually do this via a USB or a serial port. Connecting via USB port is a lot better as it’s much faster than a serial connection but not all computers and programs support USB. That’s why it’s important to make sure if you can connect via USB, always double check when buying a digital camera if it supports connecting via serial connection as some recent cameras have stopped supporting serial connection and gone straight to USB.

If your computer doesn’t support USB you can also use a card reader. These are also attached to the computer. All you have to do is load the card into the reader and upload the pictures.

Also with your camera you should get a disc with the software which moves the photos from the memory card to your computers hard drive. It’s usually very simple and self explanatory.

When you’ve moved your pictures from the memory of your digital camera to the HD, delete the photos from the digital camera memory and you’re set to go and take more photos.
